One day car insurance is a fairly new type of cover introduced to the insurance industry to cater for the shorter periods of driving when cover is needed. Available from 1 day to 28 days to most drivers, as long as you can meet their eligibility criteria.
Age restrictions make it only available to drivers aged from 19-75. You also need to have held your licence for a minimum of 12 months and be in possession of a UK, EU, EEA, Swiss or Commonwealth driving licence for the same period of time.
Some of the more common uses for it include test driving a vehicle, renewing car road tax fund, borrowing a friend or family members car, driving a newly purchased vehicle home, use of a dealership’s courtesy vehicle while your car is in for servicing, or even taking turns driving on long journeys away.
How Much Is One Day Car Insurance?
You can insure one driver per policy. Once the policy has been created, you will not be able to make any amendments or changes. Make sure you enter the correct details before purchasing a policy.
After registering your car for day insurance cover, your documents are sent to you via email. You also have the option of storing them online and accessing them to print at your leisure. Once you have made payment, cover is arranged instantly and you can make use of the daily car insurance straight away.
The Insure Daily policy is not designed to provide cover if you intend to export a vehicle out of the UK and you will not be able to use this policy to recover a seized or impounded vehicle - the certificate of insurance is clearly endorsed to this effect.
